Having so many demands on us during the holidays can be quite distressing physically and emotionally. Sometimes when we fix the physical pain, the emotional stress is more manageable. Nobody wants to be in pain. It can have a dramatic effect by changing your personality and attitude tremendously. If we are fortunate enough not have pain problems, then maybe we could spread the holiday cheer by being a little more sympathetic to our fellow humans and family members.
Depression is very real with or without pain, but studies have shown how much higher the depression rate is with chronic pain patients. Depression makes a person feel hopeless and they lose interest in things that used to very important to them. Obviously, we don’t technically treat depression and you need to see a mental health provider for any depression issues, but we like to think we can help ease the burden of chronic pain.
